Chiru losing his flock

Even after merging with Congress Party, Chiranjeevi seems to be clueless about his political future. The MLAs with him have become more insecure than him. So much so, they are actually looking for godfathers in Congress Party for a bright future.

Chiranjeevi thought that by joining the Congress Party, he can have the cake and eat it too. That is he can have power without too much of responsibility. But the reality has hit him hard. The party has literally left him in the lurch.

With his clout in Congress Party in doubt, his MLAs are feeling in secure. CM Kiran Kumar Reddy appears more interested in humouring Jagan group MLAs. He has not shown much concern for  Chiru MLAs as they have no other go than continue to support his party.

Out of 17 MLAs that Chiru has, two Reddy MLAs and two Telangana region MLAs have been following their own independent political line. The remaining 13 MLAs belong to Chiru’s own community. But even they are not very confident about Chiru’s ability to protect their political future.

No wonder, many MLAs such as Ganta Srinivasa Rao (Anakapalle) are cozying up to PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana. In fact, the talk is that most of the former PRP MLAs are now turning into Botsa loyalists.

So Chiru’s merger appears to have helped Botsa more than anyone, because he is seen as a man of action and political ambition.
