Ummareddy

Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal has on Monday met disgruntled TDP leader Ummareddy Venkateswarlu at the latter’s residence. It is known that Ummareddy, who enjoyed several important positions during TDP heydays, has been of late expressing his discontent at being allegedly sidelined in the party.

Ummareddy is said to be joining YSR Congress Party and his his son reportedly is already supporting Jagan. Some reports even indicated that Ummareddy was promised Parliament ticket from Tenali by Jagan.

It is in this backdrop that Lagadapati Rajagopal’s meeting assumes importance. Though Rajagopal claimed that there was no political significance to the meeting, it is likely that the Congress MP might be asking Ummareddy to consider Congress as an alternative.

Ummareddy is scheduled to meet Chandrababu Naidu and explain his position and formally quit the party any time now. Once he is out of TDP, Ummareddy might take a firm decision on his future course of action.
