Colorful Rajya Sabha MP T Subbirami Reddy is giving a tough time to Minister of State for Human Resources D Puarndeswari. He has been eyeing NTR daughter’s Parliamentary constituency Visakhapatnam for 2014 elections and is making an all out effort to replace her.

“I am planning to contest from here in the next elections. Purandeswari will have no chances here. I suggest that she better opt for Narasarapet constituency in Guntur,” Reddy, known as a wheeler-dealer in Delhi circles, told reporters in Visakhapatnam on Monday.

Purandeswari had to migrate to Vizag in 2009 as her Bapatla seat was reserved for SCs. Though the decision was last minute, Purandeswari could win over the hearts of Visakha people with her charm. In any case, Vizag has been a political haven for outsiders for many years now.

However, Subbirami Reddy, who represented the constituency earlier, is now bent on getting the seat from Congress in the next polls. Even though he had nothing to do with the constituency officially, Reddy has been nurturing the place with great care. He has been organizing every other cultural or filmy function in Visakhapatnam to retain his future claim on the city.

Reddy, however, clarified that he had no ill-will against Purandeswari and that he was suggesting only as a well-wisher.

Purandeswari herself is known as a silent killer, and it will be interesting to watch who will win the battle of wits in 2014.
