The ruling Congress is going through a crisis of identity. So much so, the YSR Congress Party leaders are openly challenging the Speaker to disqualify them. Today, after a meeting of MLAs at Jagan’s Lotus Pond residence, Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose dared the Congress to remove them from the Assembly and conduct by-polls.

“We have voted against the government in the very presence of the Speaker. What is he waiting for then? We are waiting for by-polls and teach a lesson to the government,” Bose said.

The confidence of Jagan camp is starkly in contrast to Kiran Kumar Reddy government’s diffidence. Despite the open challenges and provocative statements of YSR Congress Party leaders, Congress seems to still think that discretion is better than valor.

Meanwhile, Parakala MLA Konda Surekha may not have it easy in by-polls. The YSR Congress Party loyalist claimed that she resigned for Telangana, but the separatist leaders don’t seem to have been convinced.

“We will support all candidates who resigned for Telangana. But we will have to discuss in more details about Konda Surekha,” said JAC leader Kodandaram.
