KCR is angling for the Muslim vote in Telangana It is for this reason that he chose to break up with BJP to contest in Mahbubnagar. Though T Employees JAC leader Srinivas Goud and several others were in the fray, KCR gave the ticket to Imtiyaz.

The Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind, a Muslim outfit in Hyderabad, on Saturday announced its support to TRS at a press conference in Telangana Bhavan. Speaking to the media on the occasion, KCR said the the political JAC led by Kodandaram did not announce support to either TRS or BJP in Mahbubnagar.

“We said we were not willing to give the seat to the BJP, because it is a minority seat as far as TRS is concerned since we gave the ticket to a minority last time also, though he lost the election,” he said.

Stung by repeated questions on local JAC support to the BJP candidate in Mahbubnagar, he retorted that it was a misinformation campaign by the Andhra media. In his typical style, KCR counter-attacked Siasat paper, whose reporter persistently asked questions in this regard. “I know why Siasat is writing all this nonsense,” he thundered several times.

KCR claimed that the TRS candidate had already won the seat and the announcement of the result was only a formality. “All of you can come to my place for daawat on 21st, the results day,” he extended open invitation.
