Nacharam police have registered a case against Sri Chaitanya College for misrepresenting the fact about the ranks in IIT-JEE. The case was taken up on the directions of Ranga Reddy District Court on a petition filed by one Sattaiah, an aggreived father.
The petitioner claimed that Sri Chaintanya College was misguiding the parents and students by announcing ranks in the competitive exams, which was far from the truth. The college barely got 3 ranks, but declared that its students secured 17 top ranks, the petitioner alleged.
Newspapers and news channels normally do not publish any negative news about some of these top residential colleges because they are the largest advertisers in the state. Unless any media house wants to put pressure on the institution for extending the facility to them too.
Hence, this news appears only Namaste Telangana prominently for obvious reasons.
A case on the direction by the courts is not a very serious issue, but ultimately it is the police who have to investigate and conclude if any crime was committed.
