Jagan’s political psychology is very complex to unravel. His leadership traits are as strange as his emergence on the political scene of the state. Jagan is of course very focussed and committed to his set of values, but the question that has been bothering both the pundit and the layman is what constitutes his political personality.
The article in Saturday’s Andhra Jyothy by well-known analyst C Narasimha Rao makes an earnest attempt to unravel the mask behind the man. Jagan lives in a world of his own that has little connect with the reality, says Rao. The young and ambitious businessman-turned-politician is the pivot of his world, and he expects everyone around him to believe in his super-human qualities.
Jagan has a sense of infallibility about himself and his love for people is more about himself than the people, explains Rao. People like Jagan go about doing things in an unconventional, but not necessarily progressive, manner. Despite being at the centre of political activity in the state, Jagan is a loner and does not have a place for anybody in his heart.
While the article does give a peek into the character of Jagan, the reasons for the people to see him as their saviour, which is apparent in the last many months, needs more thorough and convincing explanation.
The second part of C Narasimha Rao’s article will be published on Sunday.
