The transfer of ACB Additional Director Srinivasa Reddy is a clear signal that a patch up between the CM and PCC chief is underway. By ensuring the transfer of Srinviasa Reddy from the high profile post, the high command will have pacified Botsa Satyanarayana.
The move in a way is a victory for Botsa, since he had taken up cudgels against Kiran Kumar Reddy on this issue. It was Botsa’s belief that Kiran was behind the ACB Additional Director’s dogged pursuit of excise cases in Vizianagaram, where the PCC chief’s family is involved in the business.
However, while Botsa’s demand has been met, he would now be asked to work alongside Kiran without prejudice. The PCC chief would have to go along with the wishes of the CM henceforth. Any continued animosity against Kiran on the part of Botsa would henceforth be viewed sternly by the high command.
In the backdrop of the expected patch-up, the high command is expected to tell the duo to ensure the party’s success in the ensuing by-elections in the state, failing which they would have to face the music.
