Nagarjuna’s son Akhil Akkineni’s engagement with fashion designer Shriya Bhupal has reportedly been called off. The rather sudden development came out when the families started informing guests to cancel their tickets to the proposed destination wedding in Italy.
Akhil and Shriya got engaged last year, after dating for a couple of years. Shriya is the granddaughter of business tycoon GVK Reddy. Apparently, efforts were made by both the families to bring about rapprochement, but to no avail.
According to reports, Akhil and Shriya were supposed to tie the knot in Rome, Italy amidst the presence of over 700 people. No reasons were forthcoming for the decision not to go ahead with the wedding of the 22-year-old Akhil and 26-year-old Shriya.
Nagarjuna reportedly took the development to his heart, and has shut himself up for the last few days, according to reports.
