Only future cities in AP are VJA and VSP!
AP has been lagging behind in development for various reasons, we all know. But the latest news is sure to make one depressed. We are falling behind than we imagined.
Recently, Girem(The Global Initiative for Restructuring Environment & Management) , an independent body with focus on urban planning and real estate, unveiled a list of 36 future cities across states.
These future cities were selected based on various parameters such as population size and the strength of the education and culture.
Andhra Pradesh is the only state in South India with the least number of future cities – only Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.
The top three future cities are in Kerala – Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode.
Tamil Nadu boasts of four potential future cities– Coimbatore, Tiruchi, Madurai and Salem.
Even Karnataka is ahead of us. It has three of its cities on the list – Mangalore, Belgaum and Mysore.
Not one city in Telangana or in Rayalaseema has made it to the list of future cities that can act as engines of growth for job creation.
