Finally, Ayyare starring Rajendra Prasad in a lead role has finally been cleared by Censor Board. The film went to revising committee thrice and the committee saw the movie several times before clearing it with U/A certificate.
Swamy Nityananda, who alleged that the film was a take off on his alleged sex scandal with an actress, went to Court to stop the release of the film.
The makers of the film, however, contended that the resemblance to Nityananda was purely incidental and that the story had nothing to do with the alleged scandal.
Finally, the film got through the censors with court clearance and is scheduled for a Dec 30 release.
