Mohammad Azahruddin is another AP export, who failed in UP Assembly elections. The former captain of Indian cricket team won as MP from Moradadabad on Congress ticket in 2009 elections. But in the latest Assembly polls, he could not secure even a single seat for his party in the five Assembly segments that fall under his Parliamentary constituency.
Out of the five Assembly seats in Moradabad, SP got two seats, BJP, BSP and Peace Party got one each. The sad part is Congress was not even in the second position in all these constituencies. Azahruddin can take solace from Rahul Gandhi’s example, who could not make of an impact in most of the seats he campaigned.
