CBI has indirectly given clean chit to Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy. During the arguments over the bail petition of arrested IAS officer Srilakshmi, CBI lawyers said the attempts of the official to shift the blame to Sabitha were unwarranted.
“The decisions to issue impugned GOs in favour of the accused Gali brothers were taken at the level of secretary. The Minister had no role in this,” the CBI defended before the Nampally CBI court today.
Earlier, Srilakshmi’s advocates argued that she had taken all the decisions in accordance with the instructions of the then Mines Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy. Hence she was falsely implicated in the case and bail should be given immediately, they said.
The CBI also alleged that Srilakshmi’s medical reports were fudged. It may be recalled that Srilakshmi claimed that she was suffering from heart ailment. It was one of the reasons proffered for the bail plea.
The judge reserved the orders on bail for tomorrow (Friday).
