Several media reports sought to give a political twist to the delay in organising the pre-release function of Chiranjeevi’s 150th film. As the required permissions from the authorities failed to materialise, the function of Khaidi No.150, scheduled for January 4, is likely to be postponed.
Meanwhile, speculation doing the rounds is that the Government officials have been deliberately dillydallying on the approvals. The Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada was the selected venue, but now the officers concerned are quoting a court order which prohibited use of the venue for activities other than sports.
The organisers for the film are presently said to be looking at alternative venues near or in Guntur, which may be held on January 7.
While it is most likely that the permissions were sought at the last minute, and routine delays occurred, Chiru fans seem to be interpreting the ongoing fracas as calculated to stall the function.
