Chandrababu Naidu wants Kapu leaders to return to the TDP fold. He gave a call to this effect during his Rythu Poru Baata visit to West Godavari district on Tuesday.
“TDP has been the fount of Kapu leaders. It is their own party. Some people left to join other parties. I call upon them to come back to their home. Congress is only a rented place for them,” Chandrababu said.
The TDP Chief’s game plan is clear. Those who left the party to join Chiranjeevi are finding it difficult to go along with the Congress after PRP merger. Babu is offering them a chance to return so that TDP gets strengthened in these parts.
It is probably the first time that Chandrababu actually mentioned a caste so openly. Which means that he is very serious about getting back to form in every possible way.
The former CM also made light of Chiranjeevi’s political acumen. He will be used and thrown by the Congress, Chandrababu said, suggesting that TDP is the party for those not comfortable with the Congress.
The Congress too raised pitch against Chandrababu with CM Kiran, Chiranjeevi and Raghuveera lambasting Chandrababu for ‘Daddamma’ government remark. Kiran said in Chittoor that Chandrababu sabotaged the cooperative dairy for the sake of his Heritage, while Chiru reminded that Babu was also from Congress Party, which the latter has been deriding now.
