Explaining the sequence of events, Sattibabu today that he had advised Babu Rao to think over his decision to support Jagan. “When he told me Jagan had promised to take care of election expenses in case of disqualification, I had told him even if that were true, there was a 50-50 chance of his losing the poll. I said he would lose his two-a-half-year term for nothing,” Botsa said.
Babu Rao apparently expressed doubts about the chances of getting re-nominated in 2014 from Congress. Botsa sought to clarify his doubts on the issue. Later howeverBabu Rao told the PCC chief that he had decided to go with Jagan. Babu Rao also said in light-hearted manner that he would personally go to Sattibabu’s house and request him not to campaign against him.
“This is all what happened. How can Jagan say that I had threatened anybody,” Sattibabu fumed. Incidentally, Baburao won the seat in 2009 elections by a thin margin of 656 votes against TDP. No wonder, he is going to face an uphill task in case of disqualification.
