Finally, Ghanta Chakrapani, a professor from Ambedkar Open Universitiy who has been extending overt and vocal support to the separate Telangana agitation, gets the coveted post of the Chairman of Telangana State Public Service Commission. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao signed on the concerned file on Wednesday.
Chakrapani was on Thursday administered oath of office by Telangana Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma at Secretariat.

The post of chairman of Public Service Commission is for a period of 5 years and is a Constitutional position – which means any person once appointed can be removed only through impeachment by the President of India.
Four members are expected to be appointed to the TSPSC along with the Chairman. As of now, Wyra former MLA Chandravathi and employees leader Vithal were inducted.
