Internal dissensions and group politics have started plaguing YSR Congress Party in many districts. The latest to erupt is Nellore district. The domination of Mekapati brothers over the party affairs in the district is not to the liking of many others.
Kakani Govardhana Reddy, the earlier district convener was made to resign from his post following pressure from Mekapati brothers. Meruga Murali, the new convener appointed with the blessings of Mekapati brothers, was to formally take over his responsibilities today. The entire Kakani group abstained from the ceremony.
More interestingly, the YSR CP district party office remained locked even after the arrival of the new convener. That was because the office building actually belonged to Kakani and is now renamed as Kakani Karyalayam.
Mekapati group was forced to hold the part meet at the cellar of the building. Except for Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, nobody from Kakani group was present at the meet.
Meanwhile, Mekapati followers were upset that Kommi Lakshmaiah Naidu was made coordinator for Venkatagiri constituency. They created a ruckus at the same venue.
