Item girl Alphonsa says that her lover Vinod Kumar hanged himself after being depressed due to a failure in his film career. Vinod Kumar, a struggling actor, committed suicide in the couple’s residence in March last.
The item girl who acted in Tamil and Telugu films was then accused by Vinod’s parents of having killed him. Disturbed by the developments, Alphonsa attempted suicide by swallowing sleeping pills. She was later discharged.
Talking to the press a month after Vinod’s death, Alphonsa says that Vinod and herself had been living together for the past two years and planned to tie the knot. Vinod acted in a lead role in a Tamil film titled ‘Kavasam’, but the film did not see the light. Unable to take failure in his film career, Vinod committed suicide, Alphonsa claimed.
