So, Jagan has 20 MLAs with him. That’s what the YSR Congress Party chief proved by organizing a meet of his supporters at his camp office in his absence.
The ones that have either jumped the boat or could not make it to the meet at Jagan’s Lotus Pond residence are Nallamilli Seshareddy, Korla Bharathi, Kunja Satyavati, Balanagireddy, Jayasudha , Alla Nani. Srinivasulu and Srikanth Reddy.
Given the media reports that Jagan’s supporters –the MLAs – are slowly turning back to the Congress fold, the youth leader had to establish that his following is not diminishing. And he did succeed in this exercise, though partially.
Out of the 8 MLAs who failed to show up, Jayasudha, Sesha Reddy and Korla Bharathi have clearly announced that they decided to stay back with Congress to ‘better serve their constituencies’. Kunja Satyavathi and Alla Nani are still on the wall.
Srinivasulu claimed that he could not make it to Hyderabad, as he got stuck in his constituency. Srikanth Reddy is in the US and hence could not attend.
Balanagireddy, the TDP MLA, chose not to come apparently because his action could impact the disqualification petition filed by TDP is pending with the Speaker.
It is difficult to know how many of these ‘absentee’ MLAs are telling the truth.
Nallapureddy Prasannakumar Reddy, the TDP MLA who resigned, did not come, as in any case he is not an MLA anymore.
It is creditable that Jagan can still command the loyalty of twenty-plus MLAs even at this stage when the investigative agencies are hounding him on all fronts.
