Stung by TDP’s attempt at proving that KCR’s ancestors hailed from Buddipeta in Sitanagaram mandal of Vizianagaram district, the TRS chief’s son and MLA K T Rama Rao hit back, saying that their family lived in Karimnagar for ‘seven generations’.
“I can provide evidence that KCR’s ancestors lived at Mohanakunta in Sircilla taluka of Karimnagar for the last many generations,” KTR challenged.
On Friday, Vizianagaram district TDP president D Jagadeeswara Rao led a media delegation to Buddipeta to talk to the village elders who reportedly confirmed that KCR’s forefathers lived in the village.
“KCR’s great-grand-father left the village with his family to Karimnagar following severe drought in the area,” Jagadeeswara Rao quoted the village elders.
KCR’s uncles and their extended family living in Mohinikunta also spoke to reporters to say that their families had been living in Mohinikunta for generations. They traced the family tree to their great grand fathers. They said that about 25 families with Kalvakuntla surname were living in the village and questioned there were any with that surname in Vizianagaram.
