The Konda couple – Konda Surekha and Konda Murali – have abstained from Vijayamma’s Racha Banda program at Chevella in Rangareddy district. This is the latest instance of the couple keeping aloof from YSR CP activities for some time now. Observers in Warangal say that the couple are not too happy at the way they are being treated in the party.
While Konda couple think that they should be allowed to have a major say in the affairs of the party within the Warangal district, Jagan and other party leaders seem to think that they should not be given free hand. Jagan wants the couple to limit themselves to one or two constituencies, which is not to the liking of the duo.
The recent fracas in which the YSR CP district party office gates were locked down by a section of the dissenting leaders was obviously encouraged by the Konda couple. The party went ahead with recent constituency level appointments without taking the views of the couple. This apparently enraged Konda couple who feel they are being marginalized in the party.
It is not likely that they change gears any time soon, but clearly Konda couple are lying low for the moment. Konda Murali wants to contest as Khammam MP candidate from YSR CP, which at present seems to be a little far-fetched. But given that the Konda couple have a running feud with the TRS, they may continue with the party for now.
