Mahesh Babu is having a blast. With his latest flick Businessman too making it big at the box office, he has now become the most sought after actor in South India for endorsing brands.
Mahesh is currently endorsing nine brands and reporting making a cool Rs 30-40 crore out of these commercials. They include Amrutanjan, Navaratna Oil, Unvercell, Thums Up, Ideal Cellular, Jos Alukkas, Provogue, Gillete and Vivel Shampoo.
The latest to join the Mahesh bandwagon is Santoor soap from the Wipro stable. Another four brands are reportedly queuing up for Mahesh to endorse their products in the year 2012. Industry sources say that Mahesh Babu will make another Rs 30 crore when he signes these contracts.
For white goods manufacturers, heroes and stars with that rare combination of mass as well as urban image are a great asset to promote products. If it is Shahrukh Khan in Hindi, it is Mahesh Babu in the south. The ladies hero is yet to endorse automobile, toothpaste and other such products.
The way Mahesh Babu is going, he is likely to emerge as the brand ambassador from the south to any product that matters!
