Actor Narayana Muthy blasted Telugu film industry, Producers Council and the Governments for not helping release of small budget films. His film Constable Venkratramaiah is scheduled to release this Sankranti. But apparently, he is not able to get theatres across the two states.
The film, slated to release on January 14, has Jayasudha in the lead role along with Narayana Murthy.
However, with Khaidi No.150 and Gautamiputra Satakarni set to flex muscles at the box office this festive season, there are no cinema halls left for Murthy’s parallel-kind of cinema.
“We made the movie after registering with Producers’ Council. It is their reponsibility to ensure that every movie made in Telugu gets released,” Narayana Murthy said, adding that he was asking just for one screen for a town.
“We are not competing with them. We don’t want hundreds of theatres like them. We want our film to be watched by people,” he said.
