At a time when the revenue are shrinking and costs are spiraling, the TV18 group is coming out with a premium business news channel in HD format.
Named Prime HD, the channel is a brand-new, premium 24 hour business channel, dedicated exclusively to meet the needs of India’s corporate leaders and fast growing investor and financial services community.
CNBC-TV18 claims that Prime HD offers distinctly differentiated programming including dedicated content exclusively available on the all new channel.
Touted as India’s first business news channel in high definition, CNBC-TV18’s Prime HD is available on Hathway Digital (channel number: 381), Dish TV (channel number: 76) and Airtel DTH (channel number: 320).
The promoters believe that a growing investment culture and demand for premium content will drive the channel’s growth. They promise to offer viewers almost a financial terminal like access on TV and a much wider bouquet of global programming, never accessed by Indian investors before.
It is be seen how this initiative will impact the already cluttered business television market with three English channels – CNBC-TV18, NDTV Profit, UTV Business and ET Now – competing fiercely in the segment.
