Both political newbie Pawan Kalyan and old horse KVP Ramachandra Rao have been enthused by the Jallikattu victory of Tamil Nadu to fight for Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh.
In a series of tweets, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan, welcoming the ordinance on Jallikattu, called it ‘an inspiration for AP’. ‘The fighting spirit’ and the ‘solidarity shown by the people’ is commendable, he said.
‘If the political class of Andhra Pradesh had shown this kind of solidarity, AP would have got its promised special category status long back,’ he felt. But politicians in AP are ‘high on business interests and low on political commitment’, he remarked.

Congress leader KVP Ramachandra Rao too drew inspiration from the Jallikattu controversy. In a letter to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, he said that the ordinance allowing Jallikattu in Tamil Nadu proved that the Centre had to bow before the will of the people.
