After some hiatus in his political activity, Janasena Party chief Pawan Kalyan today took up the cause of victims of kidney affliction in Uddanam area in Srikakulam district.
Addressing a public meeting here, Pawan questioned the claim of the Central and State Governments about lack of funds for his cause. Both the Centre and the State are spending a lot of money on other things, but don’t have enough for a real cause.
Earlier, he called some of the victims on to the dais and spoke to them about their plight. The cinematic element in the conduct of the meeting is unmissable.
“The State Government has spent on crores of money for Pushkaralu. They have money to spend on the construction of Amaravati. But express helplessness to come to the rescue of Uddanam victims,” he said. He asked the Government to immediately provide Rs 100 crore to help the locals fight the disease.
He also demanded that the Government should come up with a plan within 48 hours and form a committee, failing which Janasena will lead a movement on the issue.
Yesterday, Pawan tweeted about the issue and announced his meeting in Uddanam. He had also released a documentary on the issue, produced by his team.
