Pervaram Ramulu, former DGP, is still nursing political ambitions. After one party hopping, Ramulu is now trying to contest from Parakala by-poll on BJP ticket!
Ramulu’s police career peaked during Chandrababu Naidu regime when he was made the DGP. After retirement, Ramulu was elevated to the envious position of APPSC chairman thanks to the patronage of Naidu.
After his term in APPSC was over, Ramulu formally joined Telugu Desam Party prior to 2009 elections. Following the debacle of TDP in the polls, the former DGP ceased to be active in the party.
Subsequently, he proclaimed himself a champion of separate Telangana, and criticized Chandrababu Naidu and his party against the latter’s ‘dual policy’ on Telangana issue.
The 68-year-old former cop recently seemed to be getting close to TRS, but now he is said to be very keen to contest the Parakala by-election on BJP ticket.
