T Rajaiah of TRS won over his nearest rival by a margin of 32.638 votes. Rajaiah got 81,279 votes, while his opponent Kadiyam Srihari of TDP secured .48,641 votes. The Congress candidate R Pratap too did not fare too badly with 28,965 votes.

TRS was a little apprehensive during the campaign, as TDP seemed to have gained upper hand. The party’s Harish Rao spend considerable time in the constituency to turn the tide in favour of TRS.

Rajaiah was the Congress candidate in 2009, who resigned and joined TRS.
