Visalandhra Mahasabha, working for the unity of the state, on Tuesday released a booklet “Telanganalo Visalandhrodyamam (The movement for united state in Telangana)” at Somajiguda Press Club in Hyderabad.
Parakala Prabhakar, Nalamotu Chakravarthy and Anjeneya Reddy spoke on the occasion and said the booklet was a compilation of historical facts which stand a testimony to the untiring efforts of several leading personalities in Telangana for the cause of Visalandhra.
They said that contrary to what the separatists were saying, the people as well as the leaders of Telangana were in favour of a united state and actively worked to realize their dream, which became a reality in 1956.
Interestingly, both the Basheerbag Press Club, under the management of APUWJ dominated by union leader Srinivas Reddy, himself a staunch Telangana supporter and Somajiguda Press Club refused to give the premises for the event initially.
Later, Somajiguda Press Club relented and let the premises to the organizers of Visalandhra Mahasabha.
