Audio tapes and a diary recovered from alleged brothel house owner Tara Choudary have created quite a sensation. These recordings show that Tara was involved with some politicians, businessmen and cops. Police released some of these tapes to the media on Friday.
Tara has the habit of recording her phone conversations with her clients and for this purpose, she was using more than one phone. Police recovered as many as five mobile phones and 20 SIM cards from her.
The audio tape released by cops included her midnight conversations with policemen and businessmen. Tara is presently lodged in Chanchalguda jail in a case of forcing a women into the sex trade.
Alleging that Tara maintained contacts with several VIPs including two MPs and a minister, the police sources claim that she had allegedly planned to eliminate a gutka trader, whose name has featured in the diary.
“It was written in her diary, ‘Murder Kosam,’ meaning ‘for murder’. The name of the gutka trader and his phone number is written in the diary,” the sources said. This businessman has close links with several politicians including a former chief minister.
One of the audio tapes seized by the police reveal a conversation Tara Choudary had with a police sub-inspector as well as the businessman. In one of the recordings, she asked for Rs 5 lakh from the businessman.
Police said that Tara Choudary, alias R. Rajeswari, is a native of Kammavaripalem in Pamur mandal of Prakasam district and a resident of Banjara Hills. Her husband R. Durga Prasad, a resident of Navodaya Colony in Banjara Hills and a native of Vijayawada, was arrested along with her on March 31 under the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act, criminal intimidation, molestation and threatening.
Tara is said to have owned a Honda CRV, a Fortuner and an Innova and 25 acres of land in her native place. Police say that many of her harassed victims were planning to take revenge on her.
Meanwhile, the petition filed by Banjara Hills police for her custody will be decided by Nampally Criminal Court on Saturday.
