Banjara Hills police have raided the residence of alleged brothel owner Tara Chowdary on Monday. Tara and her associate Prasad, said to be her husband, were earlier arrested and remanded to judicial custody by the police on charges of forcing a girl from Vizag into prostitution. Cops held the starlet on the complaint lodged by the kidnapped girl.
During the raid on her Navodaya colony residence on Monday, the police reportedly seized spy cams and CDs, which the cops believe were used to blackmail both the girls and the clients. Tara Chowdary has been involved in several cases related to prostitution in the past too.
The articles seized by the cops include 7 mobile phones, a spy cam and a few pictures taken by her with prominent people and some cash. The police are investigating whether the former starlet was using the spy cam for forcing girls into sex trade. Unconfirmed reports said that several political leaders and businessmen were lured into the network of Tara Chowdary, some of whom she allegedly tried to blackmail.
Police collected some visiting cards and references of a few leaders and business people from Guntur and Kurnool, why the cops believe were entertained by her in the past. With the police collecting and collating all information and evidence from Tara alias Rajeswari’s residence, VIPs among her clients are reportedly getting nervous.
