It is almost official that TDP currently is no player in Telangana electoral politics. No one has done more than TRS to make this happen. In this backdrop, it is surprising that the Pink Party spared no efforts to disrupt Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Adilabad and later Nizamabad.

Despite JAC chairman Kodandram’s statement that they did not give a call to prevent Naidu from touring Telangana, TRS women and student wings were active in creating tension throughout Naidu’s programs.

TRS might say that there leaders were not directly involved. But the fact is that the cadres would not have gone ahead without explicit permission from the TRS leadership.

This means that TRS somehow suspects that TDP might be able to recover its lost ground in Telangana in the coming days and months. The party, which is bent on snatching a majority of seats in Telangana in the next elections, is apparently determined not to yield an inch to TDP. Hence the resistance.

While Naidu’s just completed visit has seen mixed response from the people, it is clear that the party is prepared to fight its way in Telangana. A small but effective group of activists has been reportedly formed by the party recently to ‘tackle’ the protesters against playing spoilsport!

In Khammam today, Dr Jayaprakash Narayan of Lok Satta’s address to college students was also sought to be disrupted by pink-wearing TRS activists. Do all these to be understood as ‘preventive disruptions’ against non-TRS parties getting any foothold in Telangana?
