Undavalli Arun Kumar is back with his shooting-from-hip style. After a long gap, he has once again dragged Ramoji Rao into another litigation. The Congress MP says that Ramoji Rao submitted an affidavit to the court in which he committed perjury.
Margadarsi, according to Undavalli, apparently said in its latest affidavit that Ramoji Rao has nothing to do with Margadarsi Chit Funds. Undavalli filed a petition in court for permission to prosecute Ramoji Rao for misleading the court.
The case relates to a defamation suit filed by Margadarsi against Undavalli for casting aspersions on their business. The case involves criminal and civil liabilities (Rs 50 lakhs) against Undavalli.
Margadarsi argued that Undavalli had a political tiff with Ramoji and consequently, he hurled irresponsible allegations against the company, causing loss to its image. If the MP has an axe to grind against Ramoji, he should not defame Margadarsi was the argument.
Undavalli does not have the support of Kiran Kumar Reddy government in his latest fight against Ramoji Rao since the Congress Chief Minister is on good terms with the latter. He doesn’t even have the backing of Jagan, with whom he fell out politically.
Information is that Undavalli is a little uneasy over the defamation case, and hence the latest outburst. The Rajahmundry MP is fighting his own battle against Ramoji Rao, as nobody in the government is interested in going after Ramoji at this stage, notwithstanding the CBI case.
