Vallabhaneni Vamsi has never been an aide or close follower of Paritala Ravi, said Chaman, a close confidante of the late leader. Chaman’s comment comes in the wake of Vamsi meeting with Jagan in Vijayawada that caused quite a furore both within the TDP as well as Ravi followers.
However, Chaman said that Vamsi was only an admirer of Ravi, in whose killing Jagan was accused of having an hand. Vamsi named his son after Ravi, and later met the leader. Beyond that Vamsi did not have much interaction with the late leader.
“It is an insult to Paritala Ravi followers to say that Vamsi was a Ravi follower,” Chaman, who surrendered to police in 2011 after prolonged hiding, said.
