YS Vivekanada Reddy, who went into hibernation following his humiliating defeat in the Kadapa by-election, is back in action. He met party chief Sonia Gandhi in Delhi and requested her to ensure a ‘position’ for him in the government so that he can serve the people.

Viveka had quit as Minister before the Kadapa by-poll. He is presently an MLC, but without a position of power, Viveka is finding it difficult to navigate the politics of  Pulivendula, where Vijayamma, who was elected with a thumping majority, is calling the shots.

The former MP and YSR’s younger brother has been isolated within the family as he chose to sail with the Congress. He is facing the danger of being reduced into a political lightweight if he were to continue in the same vein for too long. Hence, he is desperate for a post in the government.

Given that he is not likely to be appointed as a Minister again, Viveka is reportedly expecting to be nominated as a corporation chairman. The party high command told him that they would consider his plea.
