cabinetThe Andhra Pradesh Cabinet which met today took several decisions. The following are some of the important ones:

  • Gurukul Complex at Etcherla in Srikakulam district will be taken over the by the Goverment to establish IIIT. Nearly a lakh square feet of real estate will be built in a total area of 340 acres. Rs 6.6 crore is being allocated to build the premises in order to classes in 2017-18 for 1000 students.
  • Scavenger Colony in Tirupati to be developed in PPP mode through APTIDCO in 2.34 acres on Leela Mahal road.
  • Approval for payment of Rs 479.35 crore as one-time settlement for those displaced under Gandikota Reservoir in Kadapa district. As many as 9096 families will be benefited under the proposal. Gandikota Reservoir will enable to store 12 tmc of water in phase I.
  • Chilakaluripet Municipality will be handed over 1.25 acres of land without cost for building a townhall under promotion of culture and tradition. 
  • One acre each for building Rural Self Employment Training Institute in Chandragiri (Chittoor dist.) and Machilipatnam.
  • Allocation of 20 cents of land in Vizianagaram at a cost of Rs 12,000 a yard for building income tax building.
    Land (extent not specified) allocated to Dr Navaneeta Gorrepati, Chandra Mokkapati for building a super specialty hospital, medical college and a teaching hospital in Ibrahimpatnma in Krishna district.
  • Lease time for the proposed family entertainment centre, three-star hotel in an extent of 1.93 acre in Canal Guest House, Vijayawada being undertaken by Laila Hotels and Resorts extended from 33 years to 47 years. 

Besides, land alienation for APIIC in several districts and creation of new posts in various departments have also been approved.
