CM Kiran Kumar Reddy is not inclined for a cabinet berth to Chiranjeevi in the union ministry, and he is planning to make the founder of dissolved PRP the chairman of Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA).
This is how Chiranjeevi’s political future will unfold, according to Chevireddy Bhaskara Reddy, hardcore YSR Congress leader. Chevireddy, who himself was TUDA chairman during YSR regime, says this game plan was designed to ensure that Chiru will not require to resign his Tirupati MLA seat.
If Chiru were to be sent to Delhi and the seat gets vacated, Kiran is not confident that Congress Party can win back the seat, Chevireddy explains, adding that such a scenario would result in the CM losing face with party high command.
Whether the YSR Congress Party leader’s kite-flying is true or not, it is fairly acknowledged that Chiranjeevi might not be able to retain Tirupati seat in case of re-election whether the candidate is his groupie or not.
Chevireddy’s potshots against Chiru have come at a time when the actor-turned-politician’s future in Congress seems to be uncertain. A PRP MLA from Nellore Sridhar Krishna Reddy expressed the impatinece at the delay in accommodating Chiranjeevi by saying that the merged entity might even be revived if Congress failed to respond on the issue.
Krishna Reddy would not have made this statement in Hyderabad without his leader’s permission.
