Tripuraneni Maharadhi (82) passed away in Hyderabad on Friday. Maharadhi, born at Pasumarru near Pamarru in Krishna district, is a well-known writer for Telugu films. He was one of the leading dialogue writers, who penned words for a variety of films like Bandipotu, Kanchukota, Pettamdaaru and Desodharakudu.
His most celebrated film as a writer is Krishna’s classic Alluri Sitaramaraju, which remains his best.
Some of his other films as a dialgoue writer include Ram Rober Raheem, Hemaa Heemillu, Manushulu Chisina Dongalu and Devudi Chisina Manushulu.
Maharadhi, who started his career as writer for dubbed films, also produced Rythu Bharatam.
Interestingly, Maharadhi was the dialogue writer for a number of films, made by Krishna, against N T Rama Rao. They include Mandalaadhesudi. Saahasame Naa Oopiri and Naa Pilupe Prabhanjanam.
Curiously, Maharadhi was said to have written the first speech of Balakrishna, when the latter made a formal campaign entry during 2009 elections.
His non-filmy writings include Madupagile Mudu Satakaalu, a poetic satire on 2009 elections.
Stalwarts of Telugu film industry of yesteryears are passing away one by one. The demise of Maharadhi comes on the heels of Mallemala Sundarami Reddy, who died on December 11.
