Is MIM trying to get closer to YSR Congress Party? If the party which has a strong presence in the old city with 7 MLAs does not see much future for Congress, it might as well.
MIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi is learnt to have made it clear to the Congress high command that if the government in Andhra Pradesh fails to improve its performance in the coming months, it would be difficult for them to continue to sail with the party.
Owaisi reportedly told Congress leaders that even MIM would stand to lose if the present state of affairs was prolonged any further.
MIM, which has been keenly following the developments in the state, feels Muslims in Rayalaseema and Telangana might favour Jagan in view of the failure of the ruling Congress Party to gain their confidence.
It is in this backdrop that MIM has kept its options open for 2014 elections.
