Bhani Kiran made some startling revelations during the interrogation with the police. Maddelachervu Suri and Bhanu Kiran were so powerful at one time that Satyam Ramalingaraju family approached him over the latter’s bail.
It may be recalled that Ramalingaraju was granted bail in May 2010. However, the CBI appealed in the Supreme Court against the bail. Worried over a possible stay over Raju’s bail, the former Satyam boss’s son Teja Raju approached Bhanu Kiran to ensure he got a favourable decision in the Supreme Court.
According to Bhanu’s confession to the police, Teja Raju agreed to pay a huge amount of Rs 20 crore for the favour. He paid an advance of Rs 7 crore to Bhanu. However, when the Supreme Court cancelled Raju’s bail, Teja started demanding his money back. Bhanu returned Rs 2 crore to Teja Raju and told him the rest of the money was already spent.
