The sensational kidnap of Dr Harsha Reddy of Yashoda Hospital has been busted by the police on Sunday. The Hyderabad police rescued the Radiologist at Suryapet and arrested his relative Srinivasa Reddy who plotted the kidnap. His aide and software engineer Durga Reddy was also arrested by the police.
According to Gangadhar, DCP, East Zone, Harsha Reddy was kidnapped by Srinivasa Reddy on September 4 to blackmail his family for money. His friend Durga Reddy made a call from Harsha Reddy’s mobile to the latter’s father and demanded Rs 50 lakhs as ransom. On the complaint filed by Harsha’s father, the police formed a team to crack the case.
Srinivas Reddy took Harsha to Nuziveedu in Krishna district, but Durga Reddy made the call from Harsha’s mobile in the city itself. The police traced the call to Gayatri Hills in the city. Later, Durga Reddy threw the phone in Nalgonda on the way to Nuziveedu.
Even as the police followed the clues and chased the culprits, they let Harsha Reddy off at Suryapet and ran away. Police said that Srinivasa Reddy plotted the whole thing to make a quick buck.
