TDP meet at Vizag, marking the conclusion of Chandrababu’s Mee Kosam Vastunna yatra, is being described as a big success by the party rank and file. Andhra Jyothy claims that around 3 lakh people attended meet organized at the Andhra University Engineering grounds. That seems an exaggerated figure, given that the capacity of the ground is around 80,000.
It is true that the ground was overflowing with crowds. A reasonable guestimate seems to be around 1.30 lakh in and outside the venue. Around 15,000 people walked along with Chandrababu in the rally from Aganampudi where the pylon was erected. Interestingly, the party think-tank was only planning to organize a crowd of around 30,000 for the event. The huge turn-out is mainly due to the efforts of the party leadership in north-coastal Andhra.
By all standards, the meet is a roaring success for TDP, which is badly in need of a morale booster.
