CBI counsel Ashok Bhan told Surpeme Court on Tuesday that it might take another four to six months to file the final charge sheet in Jagan case. He also made it that the final charge sheet could be filed only after the completion of the investigation into the case.
This statement by the CBI effectively seals the fate of Jagan’s bail hopes, as he could be stay put in jail till the so-called investigation could be completed by the CBI.
The SC was hearing counter by the CBI on Jagan’s assets case. One of the accused in the case, Nimmagadda Prasad, who is in Chanchalguda Jail, filed a bail application in the court. The defense counsel questioned how could Nimmagadda could be put away in jail indefinitely in the name of investigation into Jagan’s case.
The court reserved the orders in Nimmagadda case after hearing the arguments on both sides.
