Though it is still not clear whether Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy will float a new party or not, it is almost certain that he will announce his resignation in the Assembly when it is convened to debate on the Telangana bill.
Given his soaring popularity in the eyes of the people of Seemandhra in the recent days, Kiran was expected to float a new party because Congress has no future in 2014 polls in this region. However, Kiran himself has not been saying anything on this subject even to his close loyalists.
But he is reportedly telling his close circle that once the T bill comes up for discussion in the Assembly, he would make his stand clear on the issue and submit his resignation, causing a constitutional crisis in the process. It is in this backdrop that he has been urging the Ministers and the MLAs to wait for more time to resign – at the opportune time.
He may then come out on his thoughts on launching the new party. The Congress leaders say that currently, it is Kiran who is leading the popularity charts in Andhra and Rayalaseema after his bold stand against the Congress high command.
