Since bifurcation, Vijayawada has been fast turning into a happening city, thanks to the continuous buzz being created by the Government. The increased VIP movement, officials activities, meetings, seminars, inaugurations and national and international shows have transformed the city on the Krishna banks into a beehive of acitivity.
The latest air show conducted on the eve of inauguration of Gannavaram Airport new terminal proved to be a crowd-pleaser. People flocked Punnami ghat to watch the first-ever aerobatic show in the city, in which a team of UK-based Global Stars entertained the audience with its classy formations and smoke stunts over the banks of the Krishna.
Four jets led by pilot Mark Jefferies put up a spectacular show. Formation leader Tom Cassells and other pilots Chris Burkett and Steve Carver smooth sailed several stunning manoeuvres and synchronised smoke acts with panache.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister for Civil Aviation P Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Minister of State for Science and Technology Y S Chowdhary, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad and others attended the event.
