Andhra Jyothy survey on the ensuing by-polls gives a declining trend for YSR Jagan Party. So much so that it forecasts that Congress will win in three out seven seats in which it had conducted the opinion poll.
The AJ gathered public opinion in 7 constituencies including Narasannapet, Ramachandrapuram, Narasapuram, Payakaraopeta, Polavaram, Prathipadu and Macherla.
Congress is ahead of the other parties in Narasannapet, Ramachrandrapuram and Narasapuram, while YSR Congress Party is leading in Polavaram and Macherla. TDP has an edge in Payakaraopeta, Prathipadu.
The Andhra Jyothy survey claims that caste equations will play a major role in determining victory. Since three main parties are in the fray, if two candidates belonged to one caste, the third candidate from a different caste is likely to get benefited due to the split in votes.
Likewise, the margins are likely to be very thin in the next by-polls, expected to be held in May-June next.
Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party is giving tough competition in four seats including Payakaraopeta, Prathipadu, Ramachandrapuram and Narasapuram, where it is likely to be in the second position.
TDP is likely to stand in the second in Polvaram, Macherla and Narasannapet.
If the survey is any closer to the truth, then it is good news to Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy for whom the outcome of the by-elections is a question of his survival in the chair.
