While the no-confidence motion was directed against the Congress government, opposition TDP and TRS locked horns over Polavaram tenders in the Assembly.
Speaking during the debate, Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the TRS partyman got the tender for Polavaram following an understanding with the ruling Congress Party.
“We have evidence to establish the nexus between the two and irregularities resorted to during the finalization of tenders. CM said that his government had saved Rs 600 crore in Rs 4,300 Polavaram tenders, which means that the tender was finalized,” he said.
Immediately, the TRS MLAs rose to their feet protesting Naidu’s remarks. TRSLP leader Etela Rajender rubbished the allegation and challenged to prove the same, failing which Naidu should accept public shame.
Assembly had to be adjourned briefly with TRS storming the podium. TDP and TRS continued their slinging match at the media point.
