Probably for the first time, Balakrishna gave a verbal thrashing to his sister Purandeswari and brother-in-law Daggubati Venkateswara Rao in public. His open letter to Purandeswari in which he minced no words in condemning her over NTR statue issue gave lot of confidence to TDP leaders.
The party leaders were initially hesitant in taking on Purandeswari as she is said to be close to Balakrishna, who is taking active role in TDP affairs nowadays. Not many leaders were willing to visit studios on the day Purandeswari issued her public letter, taking on Chandrababu.
But once Balakrishna came out with his strongly-worded rejoinder, party leaders heaved a sigh of relief as they can now take on Chinnamma without reservations.
Balayya’s letter is a clear indication on whose side he will be in the coming days in issues political. Power is thicker than blood. Balakrishna is clearly more inclined towards his brother-in-law and ‘viyaankudu’ Chandrababu rather than his sister.
That’s a message that Purandeswari is not likely to miss.
