PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana is running riot. He wants to prove that Vizianagaram is his pocket borough. Not only did he muster all his power and resources to counter the TDP dharna in Vizianagaram on Monday, but also mounted a counter attack against Chandrababu in a manner that few ruling party leaders could have done.
His frontal attack against the opposition party’s dharna and unabashed display of his strength is aimed at conveying the message that he is the most capable leader even within the Congress to take on the opposition.
It is unlikely that CM Kiran would sanctioned the district administration’s move to disrupt the TDP dharna, but Botsa proved once again that he is the one who calls the shots in the district and no other. It was he who dictated terms to the local administration and insisted that they bend according to his whims. And he did all this successfully.
The sway of Gajapatis in Vizianagaram is a thing of the past now, and it is Botsa and his extended family that rules the roost here. Botsa is on the ascendancy and he is in a hurry. He will brook neither Chandrababu nor Kiran to come in the way!
